They are A-LIVE!!!!!!

This 100+ degree heat is killing us!  Well, not really, but it IS killing a lot of garden plants that can handle a bit of heat, but not weeks and weeks of it.  Typically, Houston has FOUR days in the summer of 100+ degree weather.  THIS year, we've had over 30 days.  In a row.  A "once in 10,000 year event."  YOUCH!

We were supposed to get some rain in the next few days due to a tropical depression forming in the Gulf of Mexico.  But, now they are saying that we may get NOTHING.  ZILCH.  We are going rain crazy.  Crazy to get some.

But, in the midst of this drought, in the midst of all of the complaining and whining and praying and wishing...

"It Looks Like a Fantasyland!"

That was a comment that I got from my friend, Sue, when she saw my garden for the first time the other day.  Of course, that made me feel very good -- knowing that all my hard work not only gives me joy, but brings it to others as well....

The Creepy, Cool, and Sometimes Crunchy Cicada

I'm going on a walk...

One of the things I like the most about living in a subtropical area, is how early things start blooming.  My morning walks are just PERFECT and filled with some unbelievable aromas -- the GOOD kind!
