It's 11 ...who?

Ok....so, my friend, A, just bought a whole set of Tiffany-priced ornaments that depict the 12 Days of Christmas -- with one ornament for each phrase. These things are beautiful, delicate, and the DETAILS!!! With bird feathers and everything...

However, we were a bit confused with the way they came down... A and her daughter, Merideth, were convinced that they had it wrong. Here's how the set was created:

12 Pipers Piping
11 Ladies Dancing
10 Lords a Leaping
9 Drummer's Drumming
8 Maids a Milking
7 Swans A Swimming
6 Geese a Laying
5 Gold Rings
4 Calling Birds
3 French Hens
2 Turtle Doves
1 Partidge in a Pear Tree

The confusion is in the first four... Isn't it
12 Drummer's Drumming
11 Piper's Piping
10 Lords a Leaping
9 Ladies Dancing
???

What do you think?

You are right about this. I know that the 11th day is for the 11 faithful Apostles who "piped" the Gospel to the world--they would not be the "ladies dancing." "Nine ladies dancing" represents the nine fruits of the Spirit....

So many spinoff songs on this carol, but in truth, it really is a gem in remembering God's plan of salvation for the world! The ornaments sound beautiful!

I know! I love the imagery and it's message in this song. So many wonderful mysteries at Christmastime that reveal God's plan of Jesus.

The ornaments were beautiful!
